HERALDS CAMPAIGN
Enaeth
An aerial view of The Neck; the small, difficult to navigate mountainous region between the Central Planae and the Circiern Regions. Most of the Central Planae and South Eridinea have been formed by artificial means as a result of the Violate War; created by a Terraformer used by the Violate King in his war against existence. Travel through most of Enaeth is made difficult, but not impossible, for this reason.
Enaeth is the western continent of Noth. While not as large as its eastern neighbour Arath, it is the most populous of the three landmasses, divided itself into five regions of different geography and cultures. These borders are not officially recognized however; all are relics from times long since past, when nations ruled and fought over Enaeth.
Instead of nations, Enaeth is ruled by three geopolitical city-states; Rhyne, Torrens and Voltaine, each controlling a small section of their region. In between each city-state is 'The Frontier'; the scarred landscape damaged by repeated conflicts, terraforming and divine intervention. Despite the perceived difficulty in navigating the frontier, many villages, towns and even cities live and flourish in these conditions, ranging from the small town of New Argus all the way to the city of Palisades, south of Rhyne.
Present above the Central Planae, the central region of Enaeth, is the Litany; Nine titanic star-shaped objects hanging motionless in the sky. Impossibly, the Litany can be perceived all over Noth regardless of distance or terrain, which some believe to be some form of superior mirage. Directly under the 'head' of this formation is the city of Torrens; a city under constant downpour, created by the Litany's low presence over the landscape. Dense mists and rain have turned much of the Planae into heaths and marshland. Many farming initiatives break the landscape here, taking advantage of the wet climate to grown bountiful grains and pulses.
Directly north of the Central Planae is the Circiern Region; a mountainous and heavily forested region. No major populations centers occupy this region, and it is home to a number of migratory tribes, in particular, the Pennant Archae, who make their homes in the forests there.
To the west is the Bedlo Strand; home of small fishing communities amid blackened mountains and blacker sand. Its major population centre, also known as Bedlo, never fully recovered after the Astelleian invasion of 2353 3G.c, and is a ruin of its former self.
To the northeast is the Rhyern Region, featuring the tallest mountains on Noth. It is here, built into sandstone mountains that the multi-coloured city of Rhyne proudly sits. From the heights of Rhyne, one can barely make out Mt. Trinitus, the tallest peak on Noth, far to the north of the continent, bordering North Arath.
Below the Central Planae is the largest and least explored region; the Southern Eridinea. Filled with rolling grasslands, it regularly broken up by the remnants of societies long past; wide ruined bridges, hundreds of feet into the sky leading nowhere; the ruins of a city built into a mountain, with great hollows watching blindly all that wander by; and the remnants of a great civilization, horrifyingly compacted into a cube as if a giant had squeezed it between his fingers. On the far southern shore sits Voltaine, the most wealthy and dangerous city in Enaeth.
