Antiquitist Societies

Antiquitists are archeologists and archivists contracted by TAERA in the discovery, catalogue and decommission of artefacts, ancient ruins and all matter of unknown materials left by the civilizations of the past.

History

During TAERA's transition from a military alliance to an economic one, Executor Regina initiated the Reliquary Contracts; incentives for scientists, explorers and historians to recover technology or relics lost to bygone cycles, to the benefit of society, or to limit the dangers these items may possess in the wrong hands.

Antiquitists come in many different forms; small, family based caravans looking for one big haul; Government funded dig sites; technological nomadic groups, such as Broken Mantra before their radicalization; and the science teams that catalog and research these discoveries, such as the team Vaxis served with during his time as an Antiquitist.

Antiquitists only form of regulation and oversight the contact they accept through TAERA'n representatives. Legitimate Antiquitists believe in the 'reputation of return'; while some finds may fetch great value in the Pendish markets, earning TAERA'n trust leads to additional contracts and further the thrill of discovery.

There is no denying a recent increase in amateur Antiquitist groups, operating with the assumption any find is worth something to the right buyer... no matter who that buyer may be.
