HERALDS CAMPAIGN
BLEM The Annihilator
Be'ielem is the Entropic God of Domination, Grief and War.
BLEM - 'Sleeping Cup of Everflowing Tears' in Daeogram, is the sleeping god that rests in every mans soul, and like the baying of wolves, stirs when the horns of war call.
In folk stories of the First Cycle, he was said to be the last god to agree in traveling to Noth. Forced to wake from his slumber, he carelessly 'awoke' the minds of the subjugated on Noth with the collective epiphany known as 'The First Revelation of Sentience'; Incomprehensible, endless chaos is native to existence. During the planning of the war, he did not give Noth weapons, training, or tactics. Simply a motive; Kill the Outsider Gods. The denizens of Noth did the rest.
Once the work was complete, BLEM was said not to moved by the grief of the survivors, but enthralled. BLEM drank deep the tears that fell like rain; ‘his cup never overfloweth, for he has a funeral’s thirst’. This was his unforeseen prize in coming to Noth, as he found grief and despair a never ending source of satiation.
He started new conflicts to fuel his craving; his chosen champion, Vishineth, filled his never ending hunger for fear, bloodlust and anguish. It was said when the Trinium was forced to put BLEM back to sleep to end his consumption, so too did his champion Vishineth lose her taste for domination, and willingly died at the hands of the Interloper.
Since that time, BLEM has periodically arisen from his sleep to throw the shadow of war over existence, and every time, champions of the Trinium are forced to fight and dismiss his desires to his dreamless slumber.
The fear of stirring his desire for grief so great, many communities will not openly mourn the dead, preferring private ceremonies where the tears of the living are collected to be thrown on funerary pyres, so as to 'scatter' the grief to the air. 'Giving your tears to the drinker' is taught to children from a young age to be wary of open sorrow, lest BLEM stir ever so slightly in his sleep.
Since the events of the Violate War and the deaths or disappearance of his last Herald, worship of BLEM is criminal in all TAERA'n affiliated communities. Only his devoted, the Violate Bastards, stir the world, each hoping they will become his new champion to herald his awakening and fill his cup once more.
BLEM's most despised champion was the Violate King, who started a war with all of existence in his god's name in 2372 3G.c. This campaign, later known as the Violate War, turned much of Enaeth into an untraversable, scarred land, the damage of which is still being felt 20 years later.
In 2382 4G.c, a series of events caused by the eruption of Mt. Shi'varo, later to be recounted as 'The Courtship of the Isles', culminated in one Jin Zheng entering the mountain to 'quell' its eruption from within and unify the Empire of Astele. Deep within the mountain, Jin Zheng encountered a natural tear into the Rubicon, and as countless Emperor's had before him, encountered an aspect of BLEM. Unlike those previous Emperors, Jin did not return BLEM to slumber, and unknowingly accepted its divine favour. He arose the Emperor of the Zheng-Kkresh dynasty, and became the Herald of Conquest.
