The Caravans have their origins in nomadic tribes of shapers, wandering through the Circiern Region and Planae as prized hunters, miners and smiths, living off of the frontier, and trading their rare minerals with villages and the Pennant Archae.

This all changed when the Violate War began. Sensing opportunity in disaster, the Elders of the caravans collectively decided to use their knowledge of metallurgy to craft weapons; initially to sell to the Planae, but then to anyone willing to pay for a good sword or spear. Soon the Botash evolved into their own mercenary caravan, their merchants trained to fight and sell their weapons to prospective buyers, or kill them.

Slowly, these simple cart smiths turned into the famed 'Transport Furnaces'; excavation and processing machines that were combined and turned into enormous treaded towers, belching acrid smoke into the air. To keep these machines burning, the Botash turned to sacking villages and towns proceeding the Violate King's armies, selling the captured townsfolk and tearing their buildings down for more fuel.

Their brief alliance with the King would be their downfall; unable to navigate the now terraformed terrain back into the Circiern Region, Botash were forced to lay low in the Central Planae, hiding their machines and returning to their nomadic lifestyle.

After the defeat of the King, the Elders began to conduct raids on the remaining unspoiled villages in the Planae, planning to start their own war against the fragile alliance, and take territory for themselves.

They occupied the east Planae for a few years, waiting for the right moment to strike. Unfortnately for them, the Amansir. in their first major operation. struck first. This raid resulted in the killing of Botash's Elders, and the capture or execution of all its Death Merchants.

Under TAERA, all surviving members were either put to death or jailed. Only a handful still live now imprisoned, effectively ending the Botash's Caravans.
