The Allied Enaethern Reliquaries Agreement

The Allied Enaethern Reliquaries Agreement, or TAERA, is the military-economic alliance formed between the city-states of Enaeth in response to the Violate War.

History

TAERA was the brainchild of then Theovocate Senator Regina Garaseehn, who initiated an edict for an emergency alliance as response to the Violate King's destructive entrance into the Southern Eridinea in 2372 3G.c. This legislation was dismissed by the Theovocates, and petitions to other city-state governments was ignored. Only Maysuria opposed the King, yet all city-states were horrified when this common 'bandit lord' compacted Maysuria into a cube, and began the slow march north, destroying towns and infrastructure as he went.

Recognizing that time was against them, Regina committed heresy by sending messenger birds to each city-state, secretly coordinating a response the King would not anticipate. Despite the reluctant agreement of Rhyne and Voltaine, the Theovocates could not reach an agreement. Arguing for this coalition, Regina rose to heraldom after a maddening 16-hour debate with the Theovocates, her ascension passing the legislation unanimously in response.

Elected its first leader, Regina coordinated the distribution and collaboration of military forces, technology, reliquaries, and willing and unwilling Heralds from every part of Enaeth to fight this threat. While TAERA was ultimately successful in its defeat of the Violate king in 2376, significant damage to critical infostructure, transformed landscapes, loss of life, destruction of towns and loss of leadership figures repurposed TAERA into the transcontinental economic governing body it is today.

Recognizing the need to promote redevelopment, loans were given to aspiring veterans and engineers to form their own companies within TAERA, some notable collaborations eventuating into the Amansir, and the Surveyors Guild. Loans were also given to congregations in settling the newly formed 'frontier', becoming the first external settlements since before the war.

Over the next twenty years TAERA would implement cross-regional laws and regulation, a centralised currency, develop 15 frontier settlements, and though the Surveyor's Guild begin rebuilding Enaeth's destroyed roads.

Continuously overseen by Executor Regina, TAERA typically plays second fiddle to the existing power structures of the fiercely independent city-states. All recognise however; should TAERA fall, everything dies with it, including the dream of united Enaeth.
